Website designer specializing in SquareSpace in Northern California
![]() As someone who specializes in SquareSpace website design in Northern California my philosophy is simple. Design a great site that has all the SEO magic and then turn the keys over to you.
Blogs, sales, specials and customer testimonials are all things you should have the power to put on your site yourself. Easily. This also means that your website will help your business earn money over time instead of being a constant expense. That's the beauty of the Internet! As a SquareSpace Circle member I get inside information and special insight on the latest ideas, trends and technologies plus SquareSpace allows you to maintain a beautiful web presence without having to know all the tech. Yet I'm here to make sure that tech is in place and working for your business - you just add content. If you get lost or too busy, I'm here to be your back-up helping with blogs, content, online stores and more. I build your website and then show you how to manage it!
What about WordPress?WordPress is the most popular tool for website development. Period.
The advantages to WordPress include almost unlimited flexibility, a big community of developers and tons of plug ins and add-on features. That's all great! The disadvantages of WordPress is that it's an open-source community so the upgrades and options are not supervised by a single operation. This means that some work great and some don't. Sometimes upgrades and options work well with one another and other times you may install something and it disables something else. Or crashes the whole website. Ugh. Plus you have to take responsibility to upgrade the database software that WordPress runs on, you have to understand that all the various elements work well together and you are also responsible for the security of your website and the hosting. Oh, and you better be sure that whomever is doing all this is making sure the data is backed-up as well. In triplicate. If your site has a lot of custom elements and features, WordPress is the way to go. But if you're basically telling the story of your business I prefer the power of SquareSpace and the company that stands behind it. |
Here are some websites I've done recently that follow my philosophy of letting you take charge once the foundation has been established. The tools I use are generally web-based design tools that permit shared editing and portability. In other words, I empower you to make changes in any aspect rather than keeping everything to myself like some mystical code.
