Tony Barthel has written the popular Curbside Automotive Column from 1996-2009. Curbside was a light-hearted look at the automobile industry and included new vehicle reviews, stories about people and their automobiles and more. At its height, the Curbside newspaper column appeared in close to 300 newspapers across the country. With the consolidation of newspapers; however, the audience shifted to the Internet.
On April 22, 2007 Curbside broke-in the Automobile Driving Museum's event space with the unveiling of a new web site featuring a zip code searchable automotive event calendar. The Curbside Car Show Calendar still is the best place to post a car show and the web site has shifted its focus from new vehicle reviews to featuring interesting cars and the people that drive them.
Writing about cars is the best job Tony can imagine.
